Flecha Azul is distinguished by its purity and simplicity, made with just three ingredients – fully matured 100% Blue Weber Agave, volcanic water, and yeast, with no additives.
Farming
Our agaves originate from the heartland of tequila, known as Tequila Valley, in Jalisco, Mexico. We allow them to grow and mature 6- 8 years before harvesting. The agave is sweet and mineral-rich, contributing significantly to the signature aromas and flavors found in Flecha Azul tequila.
Harvesting
Jimadores harvest fully mature agave from the lowlands of Jalisco. These agaves are hand-selected for their maturity and sweetness.
Cookıng
Once the agave is harvested and the “hearts” of the agave are exposed, they are cooked in traditional masonry ovens. The steam cooking process takes 48 hours: 24 hours of cooking and 24 hours of cooling.
Fermentation
Dıstıllatıon
Using the traditional alembic distillation process, we distill the liquid twice in copper pot stills to maintain the pure flavor of agave. The result is the foundation for all our tequilas; our Blanco expression delivers a bright personality and impeccable tequila-making credentials.
Agıng
Our aged expressions (Reposado, Añejo, Añejo Cristalino, and Extra-Añejo) are aged in hand-selected bourbon-seasoned American oak barrels for complexity and character, and blended by Lorena Diaz, our Master Distiller, an expert in aging techniques. Of the nearly 152 distillers in Tequila, only 12 are women.
